Our bodies are made of a range of different systems that need to work together for us to survive. Each interlinked system plays a specific and important role to keep us alive.



Another system, often considered an organ rather then a system, is the dermal system. This refers to a person's skin. Skin is a layer of tissue that covers the outside part of the human body. It is important because it protects the inside of the body from dirt, germs and extreme temperatures. It is also important because nerve cells in the skin send touch sensations to the brain.
